What training program is right for my pet and lifestyle?Don't worry! The best thing to do if you are confused or question your pet's right training program is to schedule an initial evaluation! We come out to you and assess the areas where you need the most help, address the factors that would impact which program would be the proper fit, and an opportunity to meet with your trainer to see if they are the right fit as well.

Will training change the personality of my dog?ABSOLUTELY NOT! We get this question more often than not. During training, it should never be the goal to alter your dog's personality or break their spirit or break a dog down mentally. Our job is to create excellent and lasting behaviors and extinguish those you don't like.

What training techniques will be used during training? We use a wide variety of ways to teach your dog to do a specific behavior. We utilize all four quadrants of Operant Conditioning as well as Classical Conditioning. What does that mean? Classical Conditioning- is learning by association. You take an unconditioned stimulus (i.e., clicker/marker word) and pair it with a conditioned stimulus (food) to help your dog understand the relationship between the two. The unconditioned stimulus creates anticipation for the conditioned stimulus to create an expectation. Operant Conditioning- Learning by consequence (good and bad). This is where the four quadrants come into play. -Positive Reinforcement: a good consequence is when the response is performed. -Negative Reinforcement: removal of a dire consequence when the response is performed (i.e., a child does homework to avoid parents yelling). -Positive Punishment-adding a consequence when the response is performed (i.e., you ask for your dog to down and sit instead, you apply downward leash pressure to serve as the consequence). -Negative Punishment: removal of a good consequence when the response is performed (i.e., If I speak rudely to a client on the phone, they refuse to hire me as their trainer). I know these are many technical terms, BUT it's essential to understand how your dog will be trained and if that is the right fit for you and your dog. All of that to say, not every dog is the same, and they don't always fit within cookie-cutter training programs.

What kind of training tools do you use?As mentioned earlier, every dog is different, and we use various tools according to that and what works best for your dog. However, unless you are going through a puppy program, every dog is correctly conditioned to an e-collar. We don't limit ourselves on the different training tools in our toolbox (prong collars, transitional leads, slip leads, e-collars, martingale, and flat collar and leash). Please note that these tools are not there to hurt your dog. They are there to create clear a precise communication between the owner and their dog. What is an E-Collar? An E-Collar is a mobile TENS unit that you would typically see in physical therapy or a chiropractic environment. It simply acts as a tap on the shoulder and efficiently and effectively communicates with the dog. Dogs are taught the command by leash pressure first to understand what is being asked of them. The E-collar is layered safely and effectively to make the communication barrier obsolete between dog and owner. The e-collar is easily one of the most effective tools to dog trainers and dog owners alike that use them properly. A professional dog trainer should be there to help and oversee proper conditioning. It is essential to ensure you are finding a trainer that is well versed in this area.

Do you do meet and greets?Absolutely! I can't stress how important it is to make sure you and your trainer are a good fit.

Do you offer financing?Yes! We completely understand that this is an investment. We offer in-house financing as well as an option to finance through PayPal. In-house financing will be split into four payments on your invoice. The first payment is your deposit to hold a place on the calendar. You must pay your balance in full before we can begin training. No worries if you need to push training dates back due to financial concerns! Just call us and let us know. PayPal is handled directly through them. You apply through PayPal (We send the link), and they will run your credit (soft inquiry). Once approved, you will receive an invoice for the training program desired. PayPal pays me directly, and you pay PayPal 6 months interest-free.

Why do other trainers offer to do what you do in a shorter amount of time? Many trainers in the area will offer to do training cheaper and on a much shorter timeline. However, we do not want FAST results; we want lasting results. Take into consideration the amount of pressure put on a dog during training. Getting a dog off-leash safely in two weeks is a safety concern and sets unrealistic expectations for the dogs and dog owners.
